The wooden school building was moved to become a recreation building for the Old Laurel Hill Presbuterian Church when funds became available for the new brick school in 1924.
John Calvin was a tall, erect, medium weight, fair complexioned man, with clear penetrating eyes.
Immaculate in dress and surroundings, and liked everyone else around him to be the same way. He had an
old-time dignity, was gentle, but had plenty of temper if the occasion demanded it.
