Sampson County reference really caught my eye, as tradition in this family
says our Williamsons came from Sampson County, NC. — How do you prove

1. Sterling Williamson drew in 1805 Land Lottery in Burke County, GA.
2. Sterling Williamson and wife Lydia sold land in 1806 in Franklin County,GA.
3. Lydia Williamson listed as head of house in 1820 Census of Emanuel
County, GA:  1 Female over 45, 1 Male 16-26, 1 Male 16-18.  (NOTE:  Lydia
lived in northern Emanuel Co., probably now Johnson.)
4. Columbia Newspapers: The South-Carolinian, The Southern Chronicle: "Died
in Houston County, Ga., on the 12th inst. (1863?), Sterling C. Williamson,
Esq., aged 75. He removed from Richland District, South Carolina, where he
had been a resident for 50 years, in 1838."
