My dear Mrs. Tate,
	Many years ago I wrote you Mrs. Sam'l McDowell Tate. Since then I have lost my beloved 
mother Susan Elizabeth Tate Nycum. She was so fond of her Tate blood. As I have been South 
since February 1st, and know she would be so glad to have me hear of any Tates. I am writing 
this hoping if dear Mrs. S. M. Tate has passed on, some of her children may receive this. Are 
there any Tates living here in Agusta?  I am a paying guest in home of Mrs. Salisburo, a woman 
of great beauty in her day I have no doubt. I shall be very much pleased to hear of any Tates.
