My dear Mrs. Tate,
I have just read a letter from him telling of dear Claude's illness. We hope she has rallied.
My heart aches for you in this news and great sorrow. I wish I could be with you and help nurse
Claude. My poor sister is in such a distressed condition that we must feel obliged to stay a day
or two longer and try to do something for her. We will reach home Monday night. Much love for her
and each member of your family. May God bless and comfort you.
Sincerely yours, Bettie W. Murphy*
