1. AARON5 BRIDGES, JR. (AARON4, WILLIAM3, WILLIAM2, MR.1) was born August 04, 1789 in Tryon County, North Carolina, and died June 07, 1887 in Rutherfordton County, N. C.. He married MARGARET MATILDA HOLLAND Abt. 1812 in Rutherford County, N. C., daughter of CAPT. HOLLAND and MARGARET HALL. She was born December 25, 1784 in Rutherford County, North Carolina.

Notes for AARON BRIDGES, JR.:
Aron BRIDGES is apparently the son of one of five, or more, brothers who migrated from Prince William County, Virginia. Because their families used the same name over and over, it is difficult to determine the exact relationship for all siblings. Hewas a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church, Boiling Spings, N. C.

Aron is buried in the woods about a mile southeast from Trinity Baptist Church in Cleveland Co., N. C.

Aron is the apparent nephew of "Grog Creek" John Bridges. These two families lived close, knew each other,with John questionably being an uncle of Aron.

Aaron was a farmer. Address is Rt. 2, Mooresboro, N. C. Records of 1820/30/40 show residence in Rutherford. Records of 1850/60/70/80 show residence in Cleveland County, N. C.

Census records of 1870 indicate that neither Aron or Margaret could read or write. Aron's age at death was 97 years, 10 months, and 3 days. Aron's will was dated November 24, 1880 in Cleveland County, N. C. and was probated August 31, 1887. Hartwell Blanton married Aron's granddaughter and bought Aron's home place in 1889. Aron is buried at Young Graveyard , Mooresboro, NC, Cleveland County.

Aron was a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church, Boiling Springs, North Carolina.

Aron was slightly heavy, not tall, an excellent farmer. Census records of 1820 state he owned 3 slaves.

John was a brick mason who enlisted in the Confederate Army in 1863 and was discharged in 1864 after being caught at Vicksburg due to old age.

Notes for BOWEN ALEXANDER BRIDGES:
Bowen A. Bridges was an heir in the will of Burwell BLANTON in 1857 in Cleveland County. This is probably in connection with his wife's interest versus his as a BRIDGES. Bowen was a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church, and is buried in there. The dates of his headstone are 1821-1901.

Bowen was a farmer, a slave-owner, and was known as a peacemaker. Bowen was small in statue, but his wife Emeline was 5' 8" and weighted about 300 pounds.

In the 1860's, 70's, 80's, Bowen's residence was in Cleveland County, North Carolina. Bowen was a member of the Boiling Springs Baptist Church. Bowen is buried in the Boiling Springs Baptist Church in Boiling Springs, N. C. and the dates on his headstone are 1821-1901.
