My Dear, Dear Claude,

	It was only a short time after I wrote you, that I heard the sad news of Alex's death.  
And I have thought of you all daily, hourly, but I just could not write.  But you know dear 
Claude how much I love you and sympathize with you.  Dear my heart goes out to the whole family 
especially your lovely Mother.  I had anticipated such a pleasant visit from her and I find 
myself thinking of things I wanted to tell her.  Do give her my love Claude. Tell her how much 
I love and feel for her.
	Frank Tate was here yesterday and I am so sorry that I did not see him.  Mr. Craig came 
over for a few minutes.  I am going to Old Fort Mnt. about the first of June for a month or I 
may stay all summer with Pa & Sister.  They are so lonely and want me to.  If I can I will run 
down for a day to see you some time this summer. Do write me won't you. Ever your loving friend,
