Thanksgiving Day 1897
Grace Church Rectory,
Morganton, N.C.
My dear Miss Wilhelmina:
Allow me to congratulate you on your success. Thought the pumpkin pie was the best
of any kind I have had for years. Even better than Mrs. McDowell's and Miss Cora Wilson's,
and that is saying a great deal. It would not have been Thanksgiving Day to me without the
pumpkin pie. Thank you so much for your very kind thought.
Hoping to see you soon to thank you in person, and wishing you all happiness on this
Thanksgiving Day.
I am yours very sincerely
Churchill Satterlee
